I finally made it across the big pond….
So, in December I finally made the BIG move. I packed up all my stuff, books included, and jumped on an airplane for a 12 hour flight back home. I made it safe and sound, my books too.
And for a flight during the pandemic it was as relaxing as it could get. Thanks to international flights still being pretty empty, just 30% booked, and having the option to spread out in the airplane with enough space between all travelers, the flight was the most relaxing I’ve had in 18 years.
Now after spending the holidays with my family, and even enjoying some snowy weather, although it never stays snowy for long. I feel like I’m ready to get started. Especially in regards to Bookstagram. I’ve been working on new Bookstagram content to be back to posting at the beginning of February. I must admit that my hiatus on Bookstagram has been much longer than intended.
Now let’s talk about the book I read lately….
What I’ve been reading
January was the month of my first 5 star book of the year. I honestly couldn’t believe it. But I’m not surprised that it was fantasy romance novel. Because The Turncoat King by Michelle Diener was EVERYTHING I love about this genre. And I can’t wait to read more. I can already feel that it’s going to be a favorite fantasy romance series.
I also read my first MM romance of the year, ROOMMATE by Sarina Bowen. It was adorable, sweet and cute. Really, it’s one of the books most everyone is going to love because of the heartwarming and charming couple. And it’s a great first MM romance for someone who is interested in finding out what MM is all about.
And to round it up, my latest audiobook 🎧 was Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey. Celebrity memoirs are some of my most favorite, especially if they are narrated by the author. And it’s no surprise that Matthew McConaughey was fascinating to listen to. I already knew going into the book that his thoughts would be interesting. But listening to him speak only confirmed it. This (audio)book is definitely a recommendation for anyone interested in celebrities memoirs.
What’s been happening…
☞ I published my most highly anticipated books of the first half of 2021. My tbr is exploding thanks to the many amazing new releases that are coming my way. 2021 already looks like an amazing reading year.
☞ I published my book recommendations for steamy & sexy romances. If you are like me, and you enjoy a steamy book now and then, take a look at the list and let me know if you’ve already read some of them.
☞ I also read for the second time already Blood Heir by Ilona Andrews. I’m a huge fan of the Kate Daniels Universe, and getting a new book in this world makes me incredibly happy. And apparently the sale numbers have been so GOOD that we are getting a second and third book, which will make it a trilogy.
☞ Although the year has barely started, I already read some of my most highly anticipated books thanks to NetGalley. New reviews for Wild Sign (Alpha & Omega, #6) by Patricia Briggs, The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren, and Life’s Too Short (The Friend Zone, #3) by Abby Jimenez are coming soon. All three novels have been highly entertaining, and very satisfying.
☞ And last but not least, I started my 2021 POPSUGAR READING CHALLENGE. Last year, I unfortunately didn’t manage to finish my challenge. But I’m hoping this year will be more successful. Who is participating as well?
Have a fabulous Sunday everyone!!
