Say You’re Sorry by Karen Rose
Say You’re Sorry was my first book by Karen Rose, and I can see how she found a way that really worked for her. It was palpable how skilled and seasoned the author is because it’s pretty obvious she knows what she is doing. The suspense, as well as the romance was very well written.

There is a serial killer on the loose, preying on vulnerable women. The only identifiable mark the killer leaves are letters—sometimes one, sometimes two—all carved into the torsos of his victims. Together they spell “Sydney.”
When he grabs Daisy Dawson, he believes he has found his next victim. But despite her small stature, she fights back with an expertise that quickly frees her. Before fleeing the scene, Daisy also manages to grab what proves to be crucial evidence: a necklace from around the killer’s neck.
The necklace is more than a trivial item—it is a link to a cold case that Special Agent Gideon Reynolds has been tracking for seventeen years. With Daisy’s help, Gideon finally has the opportunity to get closer to the truth than ever before.
But they might not get the chance, as the serial killer has a new target: Gideon and Daisy.

MY THOUGHTS
I think most of all I was really surprised by the amount of romance in this novel. I expected it to be a very light romance, minimal even, since it’s a romantic suspense thriller, but that wasn’t the case at all. The couple’s relationship was fully developed and I really enjoyed how much quality time they had throughout the book.
Even though the story’s timeframe covered only a little more than a week, the author filled those 544 pages with a thrilling plot. And although the antagonist owned a good part of those pages, the further I got into the book the more invested I became in the story, including his part.
The only thing that bothered me was that not everything in this story made sense to me. There were a couple situations that had me wondering. But all in all the book was entertaining, and I enjoyed the romantic part very much. Not surprising I’m looking forward to reading more in this series, because it didn’t feel like the overall arc was finished.
ABOUT THE NARRATION:
The audiobook performance was on par with others I listened to. The only complaint I have is that the male narrator’s female impressions weren’t the best. But I imagine it’s not easy for a male narrator to get that part right.
MY RATING:
I received a copy of this book from the publisher for free.
My opinions have not been influenced by the publisher or the author.

I have and read a few of her novels and enjoyed every story (I can’t remember romance now though). Great review!
I was surprised how much romance was in this book, but I wasn’t complaining ?
I’ve never heard of this book but it sounds pretty good tbh
I never read any of her books until this one, and I’m always just shocked how many authors are out there that I haven’t hear about or read.
This sounds thrilling. Great review!
Thank you so much ?
Enjoyed your review. I have this book but for some reason didn’t get around to reading it. Could you give me an idea of the heat level of the romance? Would you say it’s steamy…flirty….or low key?
It’s been a while since I read it, I just now had the time to post it on the new blog, but what I remember is that I was surprised by how much the book focused on the couple, but the overall romance wasn’t in your face steamy or sexy. It was there, but matched the overall plot of the book.
