ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE ROMANCE BOOKS

Morgan Grant and her sixteen-year-old daughter, Clara, would like nothing more than to be nothing alike.
Morgan is determined to prevent her daughter from making the same mistakes she did. By getting pregnant and married way too young, Morgan put her own dreams on hold. Clara doesn’t want to follow in her mother’s footsteps. Her predictable mother doesn’t have a spontaneous bone in her body.
With warring personalities and conflicting goals, Morgan and Clara find it increasingly difficult to coexist. The only person who can bring peace to the household is Chris—Morgan’s husband, Clara’s father, and the family anchor. But that peace is shattered when Chris is involved in a tragic and questionable accident. The heartbreaking and long-lasting consequences will reach far beyond just Morgan and Clara.
While struggling to rebuild everything that crashed around them, Morgan finds comfort in the last person she expects to, and Clara turns to the one boy she’s been forbidden to see. With each passing day, new secrets, resentment, and misunderstandings make mother and daughter fall further apart. So far apart, it might be impossible for them to ever fall back together.
I’ve only read one book by Colleen Hoover so far, It Ends With Us, and it was an experience I was hesitant to repeat again. That book messed with my head and heart. But reading Regretting You, one of my rare five star books, was like comfort food for the soul. Also if you like me, always on a book buying budget, Regretting You is available with Amazon Kindle Unlimited program. Best reason to give it a try and if you are searching for more KU romance books, I got you covered with this list.

BOOK REVIEW
MY THOUGHTS
Overall, Regretting You reminded me a lot (and I don’t mean the plot, just the feelings) of The Birthday List by Devney Perry, and The Five Stages of Falling in Love by Rachel Higginson. The novel was the perfect combination of being deeply emotional, including me tearing up, hopeful, heart warming and sweet. The book had it all. And most of all I was wowed by the writing itself.
I must admit I picked up this book with the expectation that it wouldn’t be more than a DNF. I clearly opened this book with low expectations. But I was shocked when I read on and on and couldn’t put it down. I finally had to, at around 29% to go to bed, but those first 29% were AMAZING. At this point I already had a good idea that this book might actually turn into a 5 star read for me.
There were many scenes between Morgan, the mother and Jonah that squeezed my heart, and I got all gooey because the feelings just overwhelmed me. Their memories of eyes locking, emotions just short from igniting, touches that went beyond anything either experienced before, an undercurrent that was deep and real, touched me in the most profound way. And being someone’s first choice, maybe even his only choice – struck me deep!!! Their interactions gave me goosebumps. And my thoughts are rambling just thinking about it all.
Clara’s own love story wasn’t less impactful. It was all about first love. And a backstory that made me go aww. Their interactions were the cutest at times. And the entire story was so well done. Not OTT as man other YA love stories, just genuine and fitting for a teenagers first go at a relationship. The epilogue, you’ll know what I mean with it, made my heart explode!
The combination of both, a YA romance and a women’s fiction romance – worked incredibly well. Both plot lines were emotional, touching, and endearing. The overall arc, the plot that made them come together, was the one that changed it all. What a twist.
Reading Regretting You gave me the highest appreciation for the author’s skill. The way she put all the pieces together, was incredibly well done. I was completely unprepared for the turns this book took. And was totally floored by all the emotions and touching moments throughout the story.
I feel like the overall story line, and the combination of the two love stories, will be something any romance reader can connect with and appreciate. As I mentioned above, I’m not a CoHo fan, but I love a great story, and this book is an easy 5 star story for me. So, if you ever had doubt about picking up a CoHo novel, this one is the BEST one to start with.
You won’t regret it.

Regretting You by Colleen Hoover | BOOK REVIEW | HIGLY RECOMMENDED
Wonderful review and it sounds like one I really need to add to my CoHo collection and read <3
You must :D, but on the other hand, I can’t really compare the book with any of her previous work, I only know I LOVED it and can see myself reading it again.
I loveeee Colleen Hoover! I have not had the chance to read Regretting You yet but I can’t wait to! Fabulous review ?
Thank you Amanda, and I can’t wait for you to read it ❤️ this book has me converted, her next book is a highly anticipated one, and I wish it would be released sooner 😀
I know I really need to catch up! I can’t wait to read both of them ?
I love that CoHo dazzled you when you least expected it. I have been a fan, but I have to admit that there were a couple of books that I felt a little let down by. This is one of her most recent that have made me a fan of hers books again. (I’ll always be a fan of hers as a person.) I especially loved that ending!
Great review!
For me loving Regretting You had such a massive impact on me because I never was a fan of the author’s books, not like everyone else. Although I knew ever since reading It Ends With Us that she was a brilliant author, her books just never synced with me the way that they did with most everyone. That’s why Regretting You caught me so unprepared, I didn’t expect to love it and was blown away. Best feeling EVER 😀
CoHo is pretty hit or miss for me, so I’ve been putting this one off. You’re making me want to move it up the TBR, though. Great review!
Unfortunately I can’t compare this book to any of her others, but all I know is that I LOVED it, lol
Shoot! I should have purchased this when it was $2 on kindle in March!! I have read almost all her books and love her!!
I bet there will be another sale, and I think it’s in KU too 😀 – It’s so good!! Can’t wait for you to read it.
I’m sure!! I’ll keep an eye out. 🙂
So glad to hear this one pleasantly surprised you! I’ve read quite a few of her books, but I haven’t picked this one up yet.
For someone that never wanted to read her books again after It Ends With Us (the book broke my heart), and never expected to really LOVE one of her books, this was the ultimate surprise!
Love your review! I’ve never actually read anything by Colleen Hoover before [I don’t think…], but I’m very interested to check out her books now. Thank you! 🙂
Before It Ends With Us, which I read three years ago, and this one ?? I hadn’t read much by CoHo either 😀 But I guess I’ll be adding her future books to my tbr because I LOVED it.
I love all of her novels, they always make me ‘feel’ but maybe she is getting better and better… I really want to read this soon! My fav are still It Ends With Us and Hopeless, so maybe try the latter? ?
It Ends With Us wrecked my heart ? I actually never thought of picking up another CoHo again – lol
I was in the same boat. I had read one CoHo book, and I wasn’t sure I could handle the journey because the first one I read by her tore me apart. But I’m so glad I read this one!
Great review. I’m glad you enjoyed this one so much!
I was so happy when I realized that Regretting You would be a book I would fall in love with. I always felt like I was missing out on something whenever people hyped her books, and I just didn’t see it. But thanks to Regretting You, I’m really excited about all the books that she is going to release in the future.
