OTHER YOUNG ADULT BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS: HERE
In 1982, two teenagers—serial killer survivor Emma Lewis and US Marshal candidate Travis Bell—are recruited by the FBI to interview convicted juvenile killers and provide insight and advice on cold cases. From the start, Emma and Travis develop a quick friendship, gaining information from juvenile murderers that even the FBI can’t crack. But when the team is called in to give advice on an active case—a serial killer who exclusively hunts teenagers—things begin to unravel. Working against the clock, they must turn to one of the country’s most notorious incarcerated murderers for help: teenage sociopath Simon Gutmunsson.
Despite Travis’s objections, Emma becomes the conduit between Simon and the FBI team. But while Simon seems to be giving them the information they need to save lives, he’s an expert manipulator playing a very long game…and he has his sights set on Emma.
Captivating, harrowing, and chilling, None Shall Sleep is an all-too-timely exploration of not only the monsters that live among us, but also the monsters that live inside us.

MY THOUGHTS
None Shall Sleep is a young adult thriller. It was well written, with a unique story line and two very likable main characters – what’s not to love!!!
No seriously, if you love thrillers and if you like to read young adult books you’ll enjoy this book. It actually reminded me of Criminal Minds, since Emma and Travis were tasked to help hunt a serial killer. And from the very beginning I was fascinated by the idea of young adult profilers, the same age as the victims, hunting serial killers. It was such a different plot – and anything different is GOOD in my book.
Besides a fascinating plot, Emma and Travis were fascinating themselves. They had these mysterious backstories, that were hinted at but never quite revealed. Also they worked really well together. Their interactions felt natural AND there was this TINY spark between them.
Although None Shall Sleep is a standalone, I really hope there will be more to come, because that spark needs to be explored. Also there were still so many questions left unanswered. Especially when it comes to their pasts. And it would be such a bummer if their relationship wasn’t explored more deeply. Because ROMANCE!!!! Also I would totally sign up for more of this.
But seriously, this audiobook had me hooked from the beginning. I loved the narration, was fascinated by the topic, and really enjoyed the two main characters. Above all the book was very different compared to all the other young adult books I’ve read so far, and that, combined with great writing was a winner for me!!

I would want that spark explored, too!
I’m hoping the author feels the same 😀
