Mid Year Freak Out Tag 2020
Crazy, but we are already finishing June in only a couple days, and my life has been literally in hiatus since Mach. A quarter of a year – just gone in the blink of an eye.
But I love doing this tag, not only does it remind me of the books I already enjoyed this year, it also reminds me that we are starting the second half of the year, and we know how times flies, soon it will be December. BUT it also means we are getting closer to 2021 and maybe there is some change coming along the way. This year was the craziest year of my life, and I’m sick and done with it. Moving on – lol.
BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ YET IN 2020
I’ve had a few 5 star books so far this year, but the one that stands out, because I already read it twice, is Wild at Heart (Wild, #2) by K.A. Tucker.

BEST SEQUEL YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2020
The award for best sequel goes definitely to Wild at Heart! Writing a true sequel is so hard, and Wild at Heart is one of the BEST.

NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET BUT WANT TO
I had the every intention of reading Postscript (P.S. I Love You #2) by Cecelia Ahern right after reading P.S. I Love You earlier this year, but I never did. I think it took me too long to finish PS I Love You, that when I was done with it, I needed to take a break, and I haven’t gone back to Postscript since.

MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR
Hands down it’s Hands Down by Mariana Zapata :D, honestly any of her books are always highly anticipated. We get only so few, one book a year, and it’s not surprising that I can’t wait to read them. I’ve been waiting a year – dammit. LOL

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT
Most of my disappointments usually turn into DNFs, I rarely finish a book that is really disappointing.
BIGGEST SURPRISE
Where the Lost Wander by Amy Harmon was a surprise hit for me. I expected a DNF since I DNFed the author’s last two books, and I honestly wasn’t expecting a 5 star book.

FAVORITE NEW AUTHOR
I’ve read many new authors this year, reading many great books, but I have no idea if any of them become favorite authors, or if they are just going to be one-hit-wonders.
NEWEST FICTIONAL CRUSH
Oooh, just finished Take A Hint Dani Brown, and I’m in LOVE with Zafir – he was a dream guy!

NEWEST FAVORITE CHARACTER
I went through all of my books that I’ve read this year, and besides Zaf (from Take a Hint Dani Brown), none of the other characters really stand out. I’m sure I loved many, but none had such an impact on me like for example Ove (A Man Called Ove) or Zaf.
BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY
I hate crying but it happens now and then, and I had a couple books this year that made me tear up, the ending of The Big Finish by Brooke Fossey made me cry, and of course A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman which is actually a repeat offender. 😀
BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY
OMG The Switch by Beth O’Leary made me so damn happy!! Loved it all, and I ended up laughing and smiling throughout the entire book.

FAVORITE BOOK TO FILM ADAPTATION
Although I read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer, Annie Barrows the first time years ago, I re-read it earlier this month and watched the movie afterwards, which was loverly. And the other book I read this month Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson whose adaption was equally good but much more powerful. Both movies were very well done.
MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK YOU’VE BOUGHT THIS YEAR
I haven’t bought many books this year, knowing I’ll be moving soon. But I’m sure I’ll be buying all the books, catching up in the second half of the year.
WHAT BOOKS DO YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR
Oh boy, my tbr for this year is FULL!!!! Just check out my Reading Challenge for 2020.
Mid Year Freak Out Tag 2020
I love doing this tag every year. Mines going to go up on the 2nd of July.
I’ll be checking it out on the 2nd ?
Love this tag and will be doing mine soon. Its always good to do these mid year recaps. I can’t believe half the year is gone, life has definitely been crazy. I can’t wait to read Hibbert’s new book, I love a great hero. And she does write some solid ones. Hope the second half of the year is a success for you.
Love them too 😀 it’s a nice way to go over the books that have been read this year. Hibbert’s book is fantastic, I bet you’ll love it.
I’m so excited for Hands Down!
me too, I hope we’ll get it sooner than later 😀
Lol, I should do this tag. I have, like 152 books, to read before the year’s over!
I love these kind of tags 😀 and my tbr is at roughly 200 books, lol
Mine’s at 200 too for this year but I only finished about 48 so far. So I am totally mid-year freaking out lol.
