Critically acclaimed author Trish Doller’s unforgettable and romantic adult debut about setting sail, starting over, and finding yourself.
Since the loss of her fiancé, Anna has spent the last year foundering on land, shipwrecked by her grief and inability to move on. But when a reminder goes off about a trip they were supposed to take, she impulsively sets off in their sailboat, intending to complete the planned voyage around the Caribbean that Ben had mapped out for them.
But after a treacherous night’s sail and a brush with an ocean tanker, she decides she can’t do it alone, and hires a professional sailor to help her get to Puerto Rico. Much like her, Keane is struggling with a very different future than the one he had planned, and he can’t refuse her offer. Together they find a way to rebuild their lives and the possibility of new love.

FLOAT PLAN BY Trish Doller
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW
I received a copy of this book from the publisher for free in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
I had such a great time listening to this audiobook of FLOAT PLANl. It was my first book by Trish Doller, but it won’t be my last.
I was intrigued by the premise of a sailing trip to the Caribbean. I haven’t travelled in ages and getting to experience it all via a book was right up my alley. And I’m glad to report that the book delivered on all fronts.
First, Anna and Keane were both wonderful characters. Strong personalities, funny, relatable and likeable. Both had their share of emotional scarring. Anna tried to get over the loss of her fiancé, and Keane was considering what to do next. They were on crossroads with hard decisions ahead of themselves, and they realised that everything was easier when not alone.
Second, Anna and Keane’s friendship was wonderful. They clicked. And it was so easy to see their connection grow into something more. I’m not a big fan of FRIENDS TO LOVERS, but FLOAT PLAN was an example of how it’s done right. The connected between them was based on common interests, trust and friendship. Neither was ready to jump into something more, but they slowly opened up to each other. So well done!! And there was some real character development going on.

And third, the book was a wonderful mix of lighter moments. I loved the wonderful visuals and descriptions of sailing and the different islands they visited. The novel also gave fantastic background information on the Caribbean for someone who hasn’t visited yet. But it also covered more emotional topics such as death of a loved one, suicide, depression, grief and amputation. The author did a marvellous job of keeping the story uplifting and perfectly balanced.
This romance was so much more than I expected. And because of it I would recommend the book to anyone, even readers who don’t usually read romance. The book has so much to offer. And it’s one of the romances that are truly memorable.

Fantastic Carla, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. Looking forward to your thoughts.
This is one of those books I see everywhere but has kind of dismissed because of the cover. Judgmental, I know, but I’m so worn out on illustrated covers. I’m glad I read your review. It made me rethink dismissing it and putting it in the pile to get from the library. I want to listen to it now! Great review!
Deanna I don’t think you would regret it, it’s so much better than what I thought it would be. It’s one of these romance books that are able to surprise you.
That’s great to know!
Great review! I keep debating this one, but your review convinced me to add it to my TBR. 🙂
It’s such a great book, much more than I thought it would be. A rare gem!
This sounds interesting! Great review!
I’ve only read one Trish Doller book, but I remember really enjoying it. Float Plan sounds like my kind of book. The sailing trip to the Caribbean setting is bound to make my wanderlust go wild, especially under current circumstances where I can only daydream about my next holiday abroad haha. I’m a sucker for a friend to lovers romance too and the progression of Anna and Keane’s relationship sounds incredibly endearing. Thank you for adding another book to my tbr. 😀
My wanderlust hit the roof after reading this. I can’t wait to be able to go and travel again. And I think you would really enjoy it. 😀
