The Archangel of Death and the Archangel of Disease may be gone but their legacy of evil lives on—especially in Africa, where the shambling, rotting creatures called the reborn have gained a glimmer of vicious intelligence.
It is up to Titus, archangel of this vast continent, to stop the reborn from spreading across the world. Titus can’t do it alone, but of the surviving powerful angels and archangels, large numbers are wounded, while the rest are fighting a surge of murderous vampires.
There is no one left…but the Hummingbird. Old, powerful, her mind long a broken kaleidoscope. Now, she must stand at Titus’s side against a tide of death upon a discovery more chilling than any other. For the Archangel of Disease has left them one last terrible gift…
This series has been a favorite of mine for many years now, and although I love Elena and Raphael the most, I enjoy reading about all the other characters happily ever after. Getting a book about The Hummingbird and Titus was probably the biggest surprise ever. And an even bigger surprise was how fast I fell in love with them.

MY THOUGHTS
It was so easy for me to fall in love with Titus and The Hummingbird. They are probably one of my most favorite couples in this world. I’m incredibly happy that the author decided to write a story about them.
Titus is such a big and endearing character, with his booming voice and hearty laughter. I love his no-nonsense attitude, and overall frankness. And although he is the very opposite of The Hummingbird, she was just the right person for him.
So far, The Hummingbird has always been known as one of the most cherished artists in the angel world, but she also was someone who was very much stuck in her own world. So, it was a wonderful surprise to see her enjoying life, and spreading her wings. Because underneath it all she is strong, witty, smart, and a fresh breeze that blew Titus of his pedestal.
OMG I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed these two. There was so much back and forth between them. Wonderful interaction between two very different personalities, one blunt and the other gentle, but strong in her own way. And I just adored them. I especially loved how they complemented each other without realizing it. Their love story is one for the books, literally!
Overall I prefer the second half of the story, they way they connected, worked together, and I adored how they embraced technology to stay in contact. It was a real treat to see them interact, and banter. They were vibrant, engaging and the story became unputdownable.

This is one of those authors I still haven’t read yet, but want to. Great review!
I can’t say I’m familiar with this series, but I’m a sucker for angle lore and the connection between Titus and the Hummingbird sounds so tender, but I love that they’ve got good banter too.
